Welcome to our live and interactive coverage of the 2017 IAAF World Championships taking place in London.
It’s day 8 and the morning session is heavily dominated by the men’s decathlon, which features Algeria’s Larbi Bourrada.
In and around the 100m, long jump and shot put decathlon events we will see the women’s discus qualification, women’s 100m hurdles heats, men’s high jump qualification and women’s discus qualification.
Besides Bourrada there are only three other African’s in action early on with Lindsay Linley, Oluwatubiloba Amusan (Nigeria); Lina Ahmed (Egypt) going off in the women’s 100m hurdles heats.
The evening session will be much more heavily influenced by African athletes with the likes of Caster Semenya and Blessing Okagbare in 800m and long jump action while the 1500m and 300m steeplechase will be dominated by African names.
Marie Josee Ta Lou will close out the night’s action as she aims to earn a medal in the women’s 200m which would add to the silver she won in the 100m.
