Welcome to our live and interactive coverage of the 2017 Formula One season.
Today’s Brazilian Grand Prix qualifying action comes to us from the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace (Interlagos).
With Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes already having wrapped up the drivers’ and constructors’ championships respectively, there is very little at stake in Brazil, so much so that Mercedes have elected to trail some 2018 components on their car this weekend.
The new addition have done little to slow them down as Hamilton topped both of the opening practice sessions while Valtteri Bottas posted the quickest time in FP3.
Ferrari and Red Bull have swapped places in terms of being the best of the rest and their potential battle could provide the bulk of the excitement.
Daniel Ricciardo will incur a grid penalty, so he is likely to start the race from near the back of the grid alongside the Toro Rosso duo who too will drop down due to engine replacements.
Pride is still on the line today so the attempt of the Red Bulls and Ferraris to catch the Mercs should provide plenty of entertainment. So sit back, relax and enjoy as the drama unfolds.
